Grant Funding for First-Time Homebuyers

By now you’ve read several of our posts explaining why 2009 might be the perfect time to become a homeowner.  If you’re still on the fence, here’s another great reason to get in the game: we now offer qualified borrowers up to $10,000 in grants.  This may sound too good to be true, but we assure you it’s no joke.  If you’ve done some research on our company, you should know that we’re not a “fix your problems fast” scam like so much of the garbage on the internet.  We sell quality homes that have been refurbished to a very high standard of quality, and when we can, we try and sweeten the deal for potential home buyers.  Here’s how you can take advantage of our new grant funding.

  • In order to qualify as a borrower, you must be a first-time homebuyer.
  • You will only be eligible if you have completed Virginia Heritage Bank’s free Homeowner Counseling program.
  • We will match your funds 5:1, meaning that a $2K deposit gets you a $10K loan.
  • You cannot use more than $10K of your own money in the transaction.
  • You must be the occupant of the property you’re borrowing toward.
  • In terms of repayment, this isn’t a normal loan: you won’t have monthly payments to make.  If you live in the home for 5 years, the money is yours to keep.  If, however, you choose to move out of the property before 5 years have passed, the initial grant becomes prorated, and a payment plan will be created.

This may be a great opportunity if you’re considering buying your first home but need some money to get things moving, especially if you’re looking for a place to settle down in for the long haul (or for at least 5 years).  For more information on grant funding, feel free to contact us here at Express Realty Services, we’d be happy to talk you through the process and discuss your options.
