$8000 Tax Credit Closing Extension Approved for Home Buyers!

Deadlines Extended till September 30.

Here’s great news for first-time home buyers. The Senate extended the $8000 home buyer tax credit closing deadline. Congress has passed the bill which will be signed by President Obama.

Earlier in the year, the tax credit gave an $8,000 benefit to first-time home buyers, and a $6,500 benefit for home buyers who were looking for a new primary residence. The deadlines for them ended on June 30. If you thought, “Now What?” you’re in for a surprise. Things have changed in a week!

The $8000 tax credit benefit has been extended till September 30.

Save more money on your house!

What does this mean? If you are a first-time home buyer and have signed a contract on a house before April 30 but couldn’t close by June 30, you still have time. You now have until September 30 – the tax credit has been extended for another three months!

Go ahead! Dance a jig on your patio. Let out a sigh of relief! If you’ve signed on a house, you can still benefit from the tax credit.
